How often should I replace my hoses? I just had two replaced in an 11 year old car and I believe it was the first time they've been changed. Was that too long to wait?
Which hoses? There are a lot of different hoses in your engine. I believe we only replace ours when they need replacing (so whenever they break or look fragile).
Sorry, I should have specified. I had radiator hoses changed. I just can't wait until they break because I don't want to deal with the fear of breaking down. I guess I'm paranoid about that.
Yeah, I tend to wait until it's imperative (usually because something is leaking or broken) before I replace mine. Yes, I've broken down because of it.
I would just say keep an eye on them. When you check your oil or fill your fluids check the hoses for cracks or wear. If they look like they need to be changed do it, if not then don't.
