Default Installing a new dashboard

My girlfriend bought a used car with a dashboard that is in bad condition with cracks and is falling apart. She found the piece she needs for her car to put in a new one, but we'd like to do it ourselves instead of taking it and paying a mechanic. My question is, how does it come off? I don't see any screws. Do they snap on and off or something?

Did the car come with the owner's manual? That should become your new best friend. The manual should show how to take it off. If not, then google it - put in the year, make and model and how to remove dash.

You can learn how to do just about anything on Youtube. I would definitely Google it before you start pulling stuff out, you don't want to break anything you might need later.

I think a lot of times they have hidden clips that release the dash, but like Hotrod said, you will probably need to check the manual to find out where they are and how to work them.

I think it just has plastic "tree" type hooks in there but there may also be screws. I would probably make sure that nothing is hooked to it before you get too crazy.

I second all the advice above. Hope your girlfriend got the owner's manual. Do you not have any mechanic friend, or at least someone who knows about car?
