My car has been stalling out on me a lot lately. I take pretty good care of it and always get regular maintenance. What are the main reasons a car might stall?
Well for starters, improper shifting in a manual car. I'm assuming you have an automatic though, right? It could be an fuel problem or maybe an ignition problem making the engine stop. You said you do regular maintenance, but does that include a full tune-up? It could also be a bad spark plug.
I would say it's probably the spark plugs but I'm not 100% sure. Sometimes it's the gas you put in the car too, it could be bad. Then again it could be the fuel pump - it might not be pushing the fuel through and making it stall.
You know I think it might be something with the spark plugs. I used to replace them myself but last time a friend offered to do it for me since I was so busy. Perhaps I ought to go check that right now.
Now spark plugs are sometimes crazy, we had an issue years ago and we went through 2 sets before we finally gave up and took it too a shop. Good luck!!
I replaced the spark plugs myself and it hasn't stalled once. I don't know if it was my friends fault or just a set of bad plugs. What a weird situation with a simple fix! Thanks guys.
