My car burns EXCESS oil and 2 Cylinders have low compression-anyone know why?
I have a 2001 Chevy Prizm. My car burns 6 quarts oil every 1000 miles. I would like to know why does the car burn so much oil? How can I lower the consumption of oil?
Also, I have 4 cylinders - 1, 2 , 3 , 4. The compression is as follows:
Cylinder # 1 compression is 175
Cylinder # 4 compression is 125
Cylinder # 2 compression is 75
Cylinder # 3 compression is 75
When I check the pressure in the cylinders the pressure runs from cylinder 2 to cylinder 3 and then back to cylinder 2. Is it possible that the seal under the head broken between cylinder 2 and cylinder 3? Why is the pressure so much lower in the 2 & 3 middle cylinders? What can I do to fix this? Thank you.
