Mine isn't a brand new car, but it's a great car. Lately though, the windshield wiper is slow. From "Low" I can get it to "Medium" but I can't get it to "High." Something's busted inside. The technician says I should replace it. Should I follow his advice (the motor isn't cheap) or should I look for someone who can fix the wiper motor?
Mine quit working awhile back and I went to a scrap yard. It cost about $20 to get one off a car that was the same year and make as mine. I forget how much it cost at the auto repair shop. This was about 15 years ago so I suppose the charge is different now. If I were you I would check out the local junk yard and see if they have a motor for you.
I agree with MomVan. You should be able to get a replacement wiper motor from another same model car at the wreckers. That's what I did. The auto repair shop will charge you much more for a brand new one, and I don't think it's worth it.
