Default Plate over the heater controls broke

That piece that covers the heater controls on the dashboard of my minivan broke, so now it doesn't stay flush. Would this be easy to fix?

You could always try tape. It might be expensive to replace if you have to change the whole piece so maybe something like super glue would work so that it doesn't show?

How about using silicon to hold it together? It will be a neater job than using duct tape, but might work better than trying to super glue the piece flush.

Isn't silicon just some kind of lubricant though? How would that hold the piece together? I just suggested super glue because it seems to hold plastic together well and is sometimes not noticable.

You mean like silicone caulking? That might be an option, and it would be water resistant, as well. I'll have to see if I still have some leftover in the shed.
