Does your shop (not the dealer's service center, ok?) stick a reminder on your windshield? There are independent shops nowadays that remind you about your next maintenance visit via email and postal mail. They're getting creative these days.

That is nothing new. That has been done for many years. Originally, they put those stickers on the door. Now they put it on the windshield a lot for advertising purposes I think. I take mine off.

Right. That has been done for years. But they're getting high tech these days They email you. If you're using Android, then that email will reach your mobile phone as well. I think they're doing it right that way.
