Have you ever used a remote starter? Is it really better for your car to be warm before you start driving it? What happens if you accidentally start it remotely? Will it turn off by itself after a while?

I've never used one, but I don't think I would. When you first start a car in the morning (especially a cold morning), oil doesn't reach those critical parts for at least a few seconds. And oil doesn't circulate as fast when a car is sitting at idle that it does while you're driving. So it's important to start the car and get underway as quickly as possible. Now, during the summer, I may use a remote start to start the car and turn on the air conditioning, but only because I know that the oil was already warm (from the summer heat) and instantly circulating throughout the engine.

I had one for my Thunderbird. It was nice on the really hot days to get the car cooled down inside. But to be honest, I think I got it more because I was young and it was the "cool" thing to have.
