Have you ever replaced an engine yourself, if so how difficult or easy was it and how much time did it take?

I wouldn't dream of trying this myself.

My hubby did this for my old Cavalier. It was a pain in the butt and he said a few choice words. It took him over 1 week! Next time if there is a next time, it will go to the shop or to the junk yard.

If I had the winch and pully system, all the right tools, and a lifetime of experience, then I would consider it. But since I have none of those, I wouldn't consider it.

My husband replaced the engine in his 1989 Jeep. Took forever. Things have to fit just so, things have to be held in place just so. I think the first time he left a wire disconnected. He had trouble redoing the 4wd. Really it took weeks. My advice, pay somebody who know what they're doing and has the right tools.
