Default Reusing a Torn Out Side Mirror

A small accident tore up my side mirror. I was calculating in my mind the cost or replacing it with a new one when I picked it up and realized it was intact -- mirror and casing. All I needed to do was reattach it to my car with epoxy. I had to manually adjust its bearing, but, so far, so good.

Oftentimes we have this impulse of buying new and impeccable stuff to replace anything that is less perfect to our eyes. My side mirror now is less perfect. But it works. I'm happy I'm able to save some money for resisting the urge to buy something new.

I would have done the same thing. A friend of mine once had a similar problem, but unfortunately reusing the mirror wasn't as easy as it was for you because the casing had broken. We were disappointed to discover just how expensive a brand new replacement mirror would cost us, and it was difficult sourcing one from a scrap yard. I'm not sure if my friend ever did end up buying a new one.

True, side mirrors are expensive; and, right, I was lucky the mirror was intact, save for the ripped portion that was easily hidden when I put that side mirror back. Anyhow, there's got to be a surplus item in junk shops somewhere that matches one's side mirror. That would take work though
