Default Seriously again

So my drivers side head light is gone again. I just had it fixed on July 4th! What a rip off. Not sure what could be causing it to keep dying? Anyone?

Did the light you purchased have any type of warranty? Some just blow quicker than others. It usually happens during change of seasons because of the widely varying temperatures. If it happens again though, I would check out the wiring to see if you have a short somewhere.

Check all your wiring first. If you have a multimeter, check the currents through the wires. If that's all good, then you just got a bad batch.

Mustang, did you just replace the bulb or the whole fixture? If it was just the bulb you have to be careful not to touch the bulb at all. Only grasp on the bottom where the bulb plugs in to the socket. The oil from your fingers can cause the light blow.

Good to know FastCarsRule! I didn't know that. My son is usually the one who deals with small stuff like that. I don't think I've changed oil or bulbs for years in my vehicles. It's nice when your son works at a Chevy dealer's shop! Free service after hours, just buy the parts!

I was going to say the same thing as fastcar. You should be able to wipe off the light and it should work. Did you replace it with a new bulb? I would check the wiring and then check the connection.

Default Blown?

Are you sure that the light is blowing and that the connection itself has not gone bad? Both the connection going bad and rust inside the socket can make that happen.
