How often do you give your car a tune up? I know that every 3,000 miles I have to take the care for oil change, but how often should I give it a tune up. Should I take it to the dealer or find a moms and pops repair shop?
I like to give my car a tune up every 3 months or so. I know some people think I over do it, but I also have a well running car that needs very few repairs and that gets good MPG!
I go by the manufacturers recommendation. I actually read the book that comes with the car and try to go by it. I just want to make sure my car runs well for as long as possible. I know dealers are more expensive but they know what your car really needs.
It depends on what you consider a tune-up. I change my plugs every 30K, my air filter every 15K, plug wires every 45K and my fuel filter every 30K. That's basically what I consider a tune-up.
