Default Two now, two later

Money is tight, so I'm thinking of buying two tires in the spring, and two in the fall. I could squeak another year out of them if I had to, but I'd rather not push it. Any down side to doing two at a time?

I don't think that'd be a problem, as I do it all the time. I have front wheel drive and, when the front tires start getting worn down a bit, I move those to the rear and put two new ones on the front. The old rear tires then come off, as they're pretty well useless at that point.

Agree, I think that should be fine. I always do it and I have never got a problem with my car because of that. Moreover, there is no way I can afford to buy four tires at a time.

I do what HondaMan does, switching the front tires to the rear. The only time I get four at a time is when they have buy-2-get-2 or some other special deal.

Just make sure that when you put on two at a time, it's either front or rear and not left or right!

So long as you are keeping tabs on the condition of your tires and you are aware of when the "older two" need to be replaced, it shouldn't be a problem.

Replacing wheels two at a time is the way to do it. Of the four existing wheels, check out the best two and transfer them to the rear. Then, put the two new wheels in front. When you buy two new wheels in the fall, do the same thing.

LOL That's a good point. Of course it would be great if you could replace all the four wheels at a time, but it's necessary that the front wheels are always in the best condition.
