Default Claying

We got a flyer in the mail from an auto supply place in town. As I was looking it over, I saw an add for a "claying kit" on sale for $14.99. What is claying? I guess it's something you can do yourself? Is it time intensive to do?

Here's a site: http://www.web-cars.com/detail/clay.php
The clay is similar to play-doh, and is used to get the dirt and stuff out of the little dips and pits in the paint job that aren't even really visible to the eye.

I think I'll stick with cut-polishing?

And sorry, clay is abrasive.... it has to be, by it's very nature: wouldn't that make the pits and such worse, over time?

Sounds gimmicky.....
