Have you ever thought of doing something like this? Are there laws about how big or pointy they can be in case of pedestrian accidents? I know one car company recalled a model because the hood ornament didn't retract on impact like it was designed to do.
My father in law worked for Mack for 42 years. I'm an independent trucker with my own truck, and have a Mack bulldog hood ornament on it that he gave me many years ago. Of course I think of him often when I'm on the road.
