Do you ever get your engine and under the hood of your car detailed? If so, how often do you get it done or do you do it yourself?

I do it once a year unless I am doing down some mud roads in my truck.

1. Mask off all electrical (coil packs and distributors) with masking tape.
2. Start car.
3. Wet engine with hose.
4. Spray Simple Green everywhere.
5. Hose off.
6. Spray Armor All everywhere.
7. Remove masking tape.
8. Close hood and let car idle for 10 min.

Turn off engine and open hood after 10 min. Wipe down by hand any dirt you missed.

Thanks for the steps. I had no idea you were supposed to have your engine running while hosing it out. Do you know the reason for that? I've also found that water still gets in under the masking tape.
