Default Having car painted

I know that prices of everything are going up. I am wondering how much it currently costs to get your car painted. Is it cheaper to do it yourself?

Gas prices have gone down a little already, did you miss the President who yet again interrupted TV shows for his little speech? The one that notes he barely pulling anyone back to come home but leaving 70,000 troops still overseas? Gas dropped down a bit after that.

Are you trying to paint this on your own or have a pro do it?

Yes, the cost of getting your care done has gone up. There has never been a better time to learn to do automotive work yourself. Still, if you want a pro to do it, do it now while the getting is good.

In would guess that they cheapest you can get your car painted would be for around four hundred dollars or so. Not all cars cost the same to get painted.

I really wouldn't paint the car yourself. Car painting is not by any means easy. You have to take off the current coat, and then reapply it. It's really just not worth screwing up the car. I suggest you just hire a professional.

Yes, I agree with Hang. The minute I read your post I thought...eww...better let a professional do that. What if you mess it up? Then you will have to get it repainted. It will cost you more money.

I painted my car myself a little over a year ago by myself for $80. Of course my car is a 1991 Volvo 240 and it had a horrendous paint job at the time. Only using $80 got my paint job to look 10 times better, because the old paint job was faded and corroded.
