Default Keeping your windows and shield water repellent

What product do you use to keep your car windows and shield water repellent? I heard that vinegar or baking soda is good but haven't really tried any of them yet. Well, I have tried soda for my kitchen sink it does make it spotlessly shiny.

I just use Rain X. I haven't heard of using vinegar or baking soda. I'm not even sure I would want to try that. I'd be too afraid that the vinegar would remove the paint from my car. Baking soda seems like it would just remove odors and dirt, not repel water.

I use Rain-X also. It works fine for me. I, too, hadn't heard of vinegar or baking soda. Those would probably be less expensive, if they work as well. I may have to try that!

Slice a white onion in half, and rub the glass down with the onion half. There's something in the onion that causes the water on the windshields and glass to 'sheet'.

An emergency situation that involved a dead wiper motor had me find out that while it's not as good as wipers, it DOES work.
