Default Melting dashboard?

I cannot believe what is happening inside of my car. The area around the center console appears to be melting! It's starting to bubble up, and just melt down the side. I cannot believe it! I know it's hot, but isn't a car supposed to stand up to something like that?

That definitely sounds wrong! I recommend that you call the dealer and explain what's happening and see what they will do for you. It seems like that should be something they will take care of for you.

There must be some product that could protect your dashboard from something like this, although honestly I've never heard of this problem. I agree with calling the dealer first to see if they can fix it, since it sounds like a defect more than something that you caused.

I've never seen one that bubbles up. But have seem them crack and warp from heat. I have heard of them bubbling though. I think someone fixed it by taking the dash out, fine sanding it and using an interior vinyl paint to cover it.

It's really very weird. I will call the dealership. It looks horrible and I don't know how far it will go. It must be a defect in my car specifically.

I have seen cracked before from the sun and getting dried out, but never melting. Do you have any images that you could share with us, and what type of car are you driving?
