Default Painting Vintage Cars

My husband loves working on vintage cars. Right now we have a 1969 Dodge Charger that needs painting. He likes to go with original paint colors but I was thinking of something else. What do you think? Do you believe in restoring a car to look just like the original?

I think they look very nice when restored to original state, including color. On the other hand, if it's done well, it won't look bad even if you change the color, so it's pretty much up to the owner, in my opinion.
