Default Protecting Rims In Winter

I cringe when I drive my car after the roads have been salted in winter. Salt is hard on the whole car but I think it eats away at chrome rims even more quickly. I try to keep my car washed frequently, but I'm wondering if any of you use anything special to protect rims from salt.
