I've decided to go ahead and re-carpet my car myself. I don't want to start ripping the old carpet out until I know what to expect, though. Any recommendations or great how-to's online?

Wow, I would also like to know about re-carpeting. The carpet in my car is dreadful but the car runs nicely. If I were to re-carpet my car it would be a difference like night and day.

I have done it but it's not as easy now as it used to be. Now some carpeting is actually glued down which makes it harder to replace. I actually took the carpet out of my truck and put down the rubber truck flooring. I use my truck in some dirty places.

One of my friends said that he did it and just didn't even bother removing the old carpet - he just glued the new carpet on top of it! I don't know if this is the greatest idea, but he said it looked fine, and he's a stickler for appearance. He also said it felt extra plush because of the extra cushion, lol.
