I have done pretty well to repair a scratch on my car. I followed a procedure I found online up to sanding the surface of the touch up paint. But what kind of a product do you use to restore the shine to the paint after you have sanded?
3M makes a great scratch remover you can get at your local auto parts stores. I bought some at Auto Zone to sand down and fix some peeling clear coat on a car I used to have. I don't remember the exact name of the stuff, it is made by 3M though.
Have you tried to wax the spot? I would try that first. If that doesn't work, try a high quality liquid polish (wax and polish aren't the same thing), that should bring out the shine. Good luck.
Once you sand the touch up paint, a good thing to use to bring up the shine is a buffing compound. You should be able to easily find some at any good auto supply store.
