You all know I would like to save as much money as I can yet I want to be able to have a great car. I need to do something about my seats. Is reupholstering something I could do myself?

You can but it is not an easy project to do. I would plan a whole day for this if you have never done it before. You can either get a kit (makes it easier) or you could put the materials together yourself (makes it cheaper).

I figured it would not be easy to do. I guess I just have to do in on a day when I do not need to go anywhere. Do you think it is better to go with a kit since it is my first time?

I would recommend the kit since it is your first time, if it's not out of your budget. Otherwise, there are a number of videos and how-to's online that can help with this kind of thing, if you decide to just buy the material and go for it.

Do they need to be entirely reupholstered? Do you think you could get away with just putting on seat covers? They have nice ones now that fit tightly and look like actual upholstery more than "seat covers."
