Default Something gross on seat

I'm not sure what is on my drivers side seat but I need to clean it. It's not grease - it just looks like built in dirt. What can I use that won't hurt the seat? I want to clean it before I sell it.

I would try something like Oxyclean or Resolve. If it is safe for carpet and upholstery it is safe for your car seats. You could also go to the carwash and use the shampooer there. Most of them still have these by the vacuums.

Depending on how much you are selling your car for, if you can't get the stain out I'd suggest bringing your car to a professional detailer. I had a car I needed to sell privately and get top dollar for. It was worth the $125 to have the car professionally detailed so that it looked as good as it ran. They got carpet stains out that I didn't have a clue on how to remove, and gave the car a showroom quality shine I never could have achieved in my driveway.

What kind of a seat do you have? Is it fabric or leather? I end up having to replace my floor mats constantly for this issue, the originals are in storage for when I plan to sell the car.

I don't know what kind of seats you have but I always use Resolve. It works like magic for me. It's definitely the best stain remover I've used, though Oxy Carpet Cleaner is okay too.

Actually it's quite funny - I scraped it off with a putty knife and then used dish soap. It cleaned right up! I'm not selling it for a ton of money so I don't want to take it to have done professionally.
