When washing your car, you should also apply Armor-All (or a similar product) on all vinyl and leather surfaces, especially the dashboard. This will keep them nice and pretty, and prevent the dash from cracking (from constant exposure to the sun).
I just use hot water and dish washing detergent on my dash and vinyl trim since it's plastic. As far as the sun, I use one of those big sun shields in the windshield.
I love the way the ArmourAll makes things look, but I dislike the feel it gives to things. Are there any products that will provide the protection without the slippery feel?
None that I know of. I just usually treat the areas where I'm not prone to touch, like the dashboard, the sides of the doors and the steering wheel column. This usually keeps it out of my way.
