Default Wasting money on a car wash

Sometimes I think it's just a waste to wash my car down here, because it seems after I pay to get it done, it rains the next day or so and it's dirty again. I wish I had a garage, but I don't. Maybe next time I'll just stand in the rain with a sponge and soap.

I can totally relate! Every once in a while I do go to the carwash, but it seems pretty pointless at times. During the summer I wash my own cars to save money.

It definitely makes sense! The thing is, when I lived at my mothers house I'd only wash the car there because we had a hose. Now that I have to live in an apartment, the convenience of doing it myself isn't there anymore so I tend to procrastinate washing it now.

Too funny. I wash mine all the time at the car wash. In the summer I wash it at home. I don't think it's a waste of time. You want to get the grime, dirt and salt (winter) off the car.

The place where I bought my truck offers free car washes for the life of the vehicle. I get mine washed as often as it needs it, which is a lot in winter.

I try to wash mine at least once a month but that doesn't always happen. It hasn't been to messy this year yet at least. In the winter I tend to take it in more to get the gunk off the undercarriage.

I only was my car by hand, now. Before, every time I went to the car wash, my car was dirty by the next day. One time, right after I went to the car wash, I got behind a chicken truck, and could not pass. I got chicken dust and feathers on my newly washed car, and made the decision to never waste money at a car wash, again.

Well there isn't any salt down here in Florida, and I think you'd feel different if you experienced our rainy season where it literally rains every single day for weeks at a time. I wash my car and it's dirty right away after it rains again.

It's definitely not a waste of time (or energy) to wash your car frequently. It is, however, not a good decision to have your car washed at just any old car washing place. Many have brushes that can scratch the paint on your car. Of course, if you drive an older car (like I do), it's not much of a concern, but I wouldn't run a newer car through just any car wash. It's easier on the paint to wash it by hand, with a car wash mitt or just a terry wash cloth.

1 in 3 times I pay to have them washed the same thing happens and oddly it does not even matter what state you live in. I think we are all plagued with this, the few times it rained in AZ when I lived there it was always right after we got everything cleaned up.
