The black window trim around my windows has started cracking and flaking off. It looks silvery underneath, and I'm thinking of just scraping it all off for a more uniform, silver-trim look. Does anyone forsee any problems with this before I go for it?

I did this to my car - the only downside was that I created little scratches on the metal underneath that sort of messed up the look, and there were some pre-existing dings that the black trim had camouflaged but were glaringly obvious on the shiny metal. That's my .02.

I would have thought you could see the ding more in the black. Oh, well. I would say take it off if it is flaking, because that probably looks pretty tacky.

Thanks, guys. I think I'll go for it. If worse comes to worst, I guess I can look into painting the trim black again if it's awful. Guess we'll see how "pimpin" my car looks after this, lol.
