Default Head Rest Media Players

I was looking online for a in-car DVD player for the kids and came across a set of headrests with screens in the back. You wire them up to the closest harness then plug in a media device (portable DVD player, laptop, iPod etc). They're actually quite cheap ($120), but I was just wondering if anyone had used them before?

Sounds like something I would be interested in. I haven't ever seen them or ever heard of them. Where did you see them? I would love to look for some too. That is not a bad price either.

I'm also interested in knowing and acquiring this type of entertainment equipment inside the car. Does the sound come out of the headrest as well? If so then the person sitting on the headrest will hear the movie but can't see the images of the movie.

I have a friend who installed something like this. I don't think he did it exactly right, because a lot of the cushion for the headrest was gone when he was done, and I remember it feeling uncomfortable. Hopefully models are improved now!

I would almost do that for my own car but I end up driving with a slant in the seat for my back so whoever would be behind me could never watch anything. If they did they would need to slouch down in order to see the screen.

I first saw them on eBay, then my uncle bought a new Lexus SUV and it was an added option (though it cost $1200 through them). I will get them and let you know how it goes, I'm undecided if I should get a pro to wire it upor just plug into my aux socket.
