Default Noise Laws

Where I live, if you're playing music in your car too loud between 11pm and 7am, you can actually get a ticket for it. A lot of kids here drive around with sets so loud that I can actually feel the bass as they pass my house; it's insane!

For us, the law applies at pretty much all hours, but only in residential areas. Cops actually have some kind of device that measures the decibels of sound being put out by your system and if it's over a certain amount, you get a ticket. I know kids who brag about the decibels, though.

I sometimes wonder if they should change laws about car music in general - I mean, how do people hear ambulances or police cars when their music is up that loud?

I'm not sure if you can get a ticket, but I know for sure that you would at least get a warning from a cop. I know for sure that if you're getting your car washed, you really can't listen to loud music. Or when driving. Other than that, it probably depends on the time of day.

A lot of times they don't Alexus. It can be really dangerous for the people in the car when it's that loud. Besides dealing with the damage it's doing to their ears, they are a hazard on the road. What if they were backing into someone and that person was honking their horn trying to get their attention?

They have noise tickets here too. It does not stop people unless they are near a cop though.
