Default Preventing Theft

I once had a set of very nice speakers stolen out of my car - right in a university parking lot and within very close range of dormitory windows. They picked the lock to my trunk and got them out through there without ever entering the car. After that, I installed an alarm system that would page me if any doors - including the trunk - were opened.

How do you prevent your nice sound system from being spotted and looking opportunistic for thieves?

That's awful, tuner! I just have a regular alarm that came with my car that sounds loud, but when I bought a new CD player for my car, I made sure to get one with a removable face plate so that it wouldn't attract people walking by.

I never have anything like that in my car. Beside, the car I have now has an alarm system that is VERY loud and they would never be able to deactivate it. I don't really carry anything in the car that is worth anything either. Just the standard issue things that come with a car and those are nothing special.

I recently installed a modification to my car alarm. It still goes off but now it also talks. I love it because it really freaks people out and keeps people away from my car.

Well, if possible, you should take things out of your car that may be stolen. If not, then you need to have an alarm. Or, you can keep all cars inside a fence or a garage.

I had my car broken into - window was smashed all for a cheap portable CD player which I had hidden under the seat. I had left some wires sticking out, which was my downfall. I guess they thought it was something good, if it was worth hiding. But it was done in broad daylight, in the middle of downtown Atlanta. And no-one saw it, right?!
