Default Speaker noises driving me batty

I have had a buzzing in my speakers for ever. I finally got around replacing them but that did not fix the problem! They still buzz, what could the issue be?

Did you make any other changes to your stereo system besides replacing the speakers to fix the buzz? Many new setups require that you install a new equalizer and/or amplifier to control the sound.

Default Could be anything

If it is not the speaker itself it could be one of the other wires. It could end up being a very easy fix but the problem is figuring out which wire. I would change out the wire on the speaker with the most buzz first.

Default No other changes

I did not make any other changes but I suppose this is a wiring issue or the antenna grounding issue. I am going to systematically work through the speaker and antenna and see what happens.

Were these new or used speakers. A buzzing sound can sometimes be the membrane on the speaker. If there is even a pin hole tear it can cause a buzzing. The new speaker you put in might just have that problem. Maybe not but check it out before you rewire your car.

what if you do find a pin hole rip or a tear in the membrane though. Do you have to replace the whole speaker, the membrane or is there a way to fix that?

Alright, I will make sure to check that out before I go and get myself in to a big project. Glad I checked back here before I went to bed! Also, I would like to know how to fix it as well. Thanks.

You can use something like rubber cement to fix the membranes if they have some kind of a leak. There are other products they make for this but I find that rubber cement works fine.
