Did you know that the row of rental car counters at airports and stuff are not really representative of that many companies? I just read an article that tells about which are owned by the same parent company.
According to an article from Reuters, there will be Jeeps produced specifically for a Chinese market. They were careful to say that there are no plans to move Jeep PRODUCTION to China, however.
The heater core on my full size van has begun leaking, so it is disconnected at the moment. I live in the south, so the weather is warm enough at the moment. Does anyone know how hard it is to change out one of these?
Carroll Shelby, known for his designs and for racing, as well, died Thursday in Dallas, TX. Most of his life was devoted to cars in one way or another.
It appears the government is considering selling its share of GM, but the former "car czar" is against it, saying it's "too soon." I think the government never should have bought it to begin with, and it's never too soon for the government to get out of it. What do you think?
I have a car that can use the E-85 (Ethanol) gas, which is usually less expensive than the standard stuff. It has saved me as much as twenty cents a gallon (but is usually closer to 3-5 cents different). Pretty handy! Does your car handle E-85?
The ThyssenKrupp Presta plant in Terre Haute, Indiana, is going to add some more assembly lines. Sounds like some great added jobs in the area! They're supposed to be starting construction this month.
If you thought cell phones and GPSs were distracting, you'll hate what's coming next. Toyota, for one, has cars coming out that will automatically connect to media such as Facebook, Bing, places to buy tickets, and more.
Anybody think they'll be able to go? There's a sneak preview available, but of course nothing can beat seeing these cars in person. Sure wish I could make it, but it's a bit too far to go for me.
I think the legality of driving with a cracked windshield varies by state. I was in my car and the temperature outside was below freezing, and my windshield was fogged up. I had the car warmed up already, and flipped on the defrost - and the windshield cracked when the hot air hit it. Bad deal!
The finish, I guess, on my Caravan is peeling. It's like a clear coating that comes off in sheets if you pull it just right. What IS that coating? Is it something I should peel off and replace, and if so, with what?
So they're saying that the total car sales for 2011 are supposed to top the charts with the highest amount since 2008. With house sales down and car sales up, makes one wonder if more people are living in their cars...:suspicious:
General Motors is recalling some Pontiac G8s due to an airbag issue. If you have one of these, you might want to check to see if yours is part of the recall.
This car lot was nicknamed "Taliban Toyota" by a car lot nearby. They sued for slander and WON! I'm not sure what sort of judges we have running the courts these days.
This poor guy was having his car towed, and, while riding behind the tow truck, saw the car fall off the flatbed! I'm sure that is going to be a pain to get taken care of!
My adult nephew was driving my other nephews and nieces and decided to be silly. They had stopped at a restaurant, and when they were back in the car but not in their seats yet, he hit the gas. Usually my other nephew lands in the back seat, but this time he was in a different position and hit...
It sounds a lot weird, but wasn't really. This poor guy was working on his car from underneath when it rolled off the jacks. Bad deal. I'm thankful I haven't had that happen. Whenever mine came off the jack, I wasn't under it.
According to an article on Fox, the car market is headed quickly toward more electric and less gasoline. Do you think you will be getting an electric vehicle within the next 5-10 years?
I just read this article about OnStar. If you have it, be sure to read through the terms and conditions carefully, because apparently they have you *agree* that they are allowed to essentially spy on you.
