This helps to protect the carburetor from water. Use a water hose at a very high pressure to remove all of the dirt and mud that accumulates every time that you use it. Make sure that you wash out the bike completely, getting every nook and cranny. Lay the bike on its side in order to make sure that you properly clean off the bottom of the bike.

Always check the chain of your bike before you use the bike, whether your are going to a race or are just practicing or having fun with your bike. In order to keep the chain in working order it must not only be cleaned, it should also be tightened and adjusted properly. The front and back sprockets must be in the correct position. Be sure to follow all of the instructions that come with your bike’s manual in order to ensure that the chain is kept in working order. This crucial step will do a great deal to keep your bike from deteriorating with age, giving it a much higher resale value if you decide to get a new bike, or lasting you for a very long time so that you don’t need to.

Keeping your chain maintained will not only protect your bike from damage, it will also give your bike that boost of performance that you need.
