    April Vacation

My husband and I are planning a vacation later this month. Does anyone have any suggestions for really nice destinations for this time of year?

    Pain in the neck

As far as medicine is concerned, Goody Powders are my OTC pain-reliever of choice. Personally, I've never found any ibuprofen-containing meds, like Excedrin, to be effective at pain-relief. (They are good for relief of swelling, though.) As far as a non-medicinal treatment, I would suggest some...

    Craving bologna?

LOL!! I used to LOVE bologna and ketchup sandwiches! I honestly thought I was the only person in the WORLD that liked them, though! I can't say I ever crave bologna, per se, but I will buy it when it's on sale and cheaper than the other lunch meats.

    Determining Gas Mileage

Thanks everyone. I wish my car kept track from fill-up to fill-up, like bjstorm was talking about, but unfortunately it doesn't have that feature, so I'll just keep track of the mileage between fill-ups instead.

    Determining Gas Mileage

In your experience, what has been the best way to determine gas mileage in your vehicle? When we first bought our car, I swear we were getting more miles to the gallon than we are now, so I want to test it and see exactly how many miles to the gallon we're getting.

    DMV Test

I passed my test on the first try as well, although I had my permit for two years before I took the driving test. We have a law here that mandates a minor have a certain number of driving hours before he or she is eligible to sit for the driver's exam, and I didn't hit that number until I'd been...

    Great movie!

I've never heard of this movie before - is it a new release? Without giving away any spoilers, what's it about? Even without knowing anything about the storyline, I'd still bet money that it's good simply because it has Tom Hanks in it!

Easy Fix For Check Engine Light

Well I think it's great that you only had to tighten the gas cap to get the check engine light to go away. I haven't had as much luck when my check engine light has come on in the past, though. Like ZoomZoom mentioned above, when mine came on, it ended up being a faulty catalytic converter, but...

    Clean Car Smell

The only recommendation I can make for the new car smell is a "new car smell" scented air freshener. Aside from washing the outside of the car and vacuuming the inside of it, there's not much else you can do to get it clean. If it downright stinks, you might consider having the interior steam...

    My poor car

We had some rain over the weekend, but luckily no hail, although I saw the marble-sized hail you're talking about on the news. Wow! I can't imagine how much damage that did to your car, especially considering the 65 mph winds. I hope the insurance adjuster gives you a fair quote.

    Car makeover

I know what you mean! I take my car to an automatic car wash about once a week, just to keep it from disappearing beneath a blanket of pollen, lol. There's just not enough time in the day to work a full-time job, cook, clean the house, cut the grass, bathe the dogs, spend time with the kids and...

    Replacing Car Stereo

I think you're right. We have a local car stereo store that I've been meaning to look into, so I think I'll check them out this weekend. I don't know if they install for free, but maybe I can run some price checks with multiple installers and find something reasonable. I'd like to have a stereo...

    Replacing Car Stereo

I've been thinking about replacing the stereo in my car. The buttons on the front are wearing out, so sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Is this an easy project to tackle, or should I just take the car to a professional?

    Cars and built-in media

I can't believe auto manufacturers are actually putting automatic media connections in cars. Aside from the fact that Facebooking while driving is dangerous because it distracts you from the road, it's also dangerous because it will tell the entire Facebook world where you are and where you're...

    Brake Pads

Thanks for the info, ZoomZoom. I've been wondering about the quality of the more expensive brake pads versus the quality of the less expensive brake pads. Since the more expensive ones really are better quality, I think I'll spring for them next time.
