    Measuring Fuel Efficiency

How do you measure fuel efficiency? I'm doing it the "crude" way. I divide the change in odometer reading by the amount of fuel consumed between the distance covered, usually in between two full tanks. Are there other ways of measuring fuel efficiency faster than what I do?

    "Android-Ready" Vehicles, Anyone?

Android, to the best of my knowledge, is a rising star in mobile operating systems. I wonder if there's now a way wherein music in Android phones can be played and controlled using the car stereo system.

    San Pedro Angels

I remember seeing a movie when I was young --- "San Pedro Angels." They were hippies on motorcycles. Are there still groups like them today? Just wondering. (Just in case you wonder why I ask ... No, I don't have an intention of signing up with them ^_^)

Your Top 3 Cars for 2011

There are a number of 2011 cars in the market today. Which one would you consider in your wish list? Then, why? As to me, I'm gang-ho about Ford Fusion or Toyota Prius. I really wish for hybrid cars, with great looks. (My taste may be different from yours ^_^).

Why Would You Want a Harley?

Tell me, why would you want a Harley? I mean, really? I get this impression that Harley is a cool thing to impress girls. It's some kind of stereo-typing that goes on in my mind. Because of that, I don't see why devoted husbands would want a Harley and remain devoted for very long.

    New Year in Three Days

In three days, we have a new year. Do you believe in New Year's Resolutions? Alright, what are the top three things about cars that you would do better in 2011 than in 2010?

Parking your car in an incline

When parking a car on an incline, I remember being taught not to leave your front wheels facing straight forward. Instead orient it sideways. The rationale is, if by some freak chance your hand breaks fail, your car doesn't run straight down. Instead it should just ram itself on the road...

How do you choose a car?

There are those who choose a car for their looks. Others for their fuel economy. Some for the size. Still others for their functionality. Of course, it's always a combination. Fuel economy for me is #1. I'm cost conscious at this point in my life. Next is functionality. I'm looking for...

    Electric Car Conversion?

I stumbled on a site of a company that converts cars into electric cars. They claim to have the experience and the expertise. I have heard of manufacturers that produce electric cars. But this is the first time for me to stumble upon a company that converts cars into electric cars. Have you...

    Car Tint

I have my car tinted primarily for privacy. It also keeps heat away during trips to the south. But I don't like it very dark. Halfway between transparent and opaque is perfect for me. Do you use car tint?

Securing Tire Rims with Special Bolts

I bought a used car before with special bolts. I could not remove the bolt with the standard wrench. I have to use the wrench that matches its shape. The former owner says it's his security against possible tire theft (so there's such a thing, huh?). Anyhow, that special bolt cause me some...

Wheel Balancing --- What is this Really for?

I have taken wheel balancing for granted as part of the usual maintenance procedures. How critical is it in the overall maintenance of the car? Then why is it required only on front wheels?

    Wifi on Board at Ford?

I just ran across a article that says Ford intends to be the leading company that uses Wifi on board. Of course, it has corresponding security features. But what I like about their statement is that this feature would give people a seamless connection with the outside world. You can continue...

    Cars Movie

Has anyone watched the movie Cars? I like the humanization of cars and equipment. I seem to have passed on the enthusiasm to my kids. Gosh, my they can't get enough of it. They're watching it as I'm typing this.

    Just a cool driver

I'm enamored to cars with small displacement (1.3L or 1.5L) for two reasons: fuel economy and safe acceleration. I'm an absolutely defensive driver. That has crept into my choice of everyday car. Anyone else like that here?

    Car Recalls

How is a car recall actually implemented? I haven't experienced it yet. So I wonder who calls the car owner, how the modification is implemented, how long it takes and so on until you get the unit back.
