I was parked on a hill the other day and set my parking brake. I forgot I had done it and drove several blocks without releasing it (it obviously doesn't work as well as it should!) and my brakes were smelling burnt when I realized it and released it. Ooops.

I was borrowing my friend's truck and pulled up to a stop sign and it started smoking! I got out and checked under the hood and the oil was empty and so was the radiator! Oooops. :shocked: Got both refilled and it is working ok, but that could have been BAD!

How often are tires supposed to be rotated? I'm not sure, but I think I have never rotated mine. What does rotating do for them, anyway?

Fargo had a car show to raise awareness about childhood cancer. I'm not sure how cancer and cars are linked, but I think it's neat that they are doing something, even if it's unrelated.

I have an analog dash, with lots of gauges and a few idiot lights. I have a friend who has a digital dash, which looks cool, but I feel like it has more potential for something going wrong.

The paint on the roof of my car is sort of disappearing. I don't know why, but it keeps looking worse and worse. Is there anything short of getting the whole thing repainted that I can do to fix it?

My license expired on the 28th of April. Around the 10th or 11th, I remember noting that and thinking I needed to get it done, but I then forgot until the mail came yesterday with a notice that my license expired! :shocked: Thankfully, it was easy to renew!

I tried this dash cleaner stuff on my car, and it left the dashboard *shiny*. It looked SO nice! Well, until I was driving east in the morning. Then the glare was awful!! I had to use Fantastik to get the shine off. Ugh!

How often SHOULD a person check their oil? I know some who do it weekly, and others monthly, and still others never. What is the appropriate time period between checks?

My friend's van has two gas tanks. My husband says that one must turn off the van to switch tanks or there could be dire consequences. I say that there's no real reason not to just switch it whenever. Who's right?
