    Lexus Christmas commercial

Even if I had the money I'm not sure I'd buy a car as a Christmas gift. If you are going to spend that kind of money on someone, wouldn't you want to get them exactly what they want? I might like a black Lexus, but she might like a white BMW instead. I'd rather not risk it.

    Diesel fuel

Lamboguy, we don't have a gas tax here in New Jersey, so my gas is always cheaper. I live 3 miles from NY state where the gas is about 25 cents more a gallon. We were at $3.11 for the longest time, but this past week it dropped to $3.07. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we hit $2.99 before...

    Diesel fuel

I remember when diesel was cheaper. I remember back in the day when I was paying $1.39 a gallon and looking over at diesel for 10-15 cents cheaper thinking "Man! I wish I drove a diesel!" Those were the good old days!! Now I'm thrilled that we are 7 cents away from being under $3 a gallon...

    Sick of being sick

I used to feel that way. I started eating healthy and taking a good multivitamin and I've noticed a big improvement in how I'm feeling. I'm almost 40! It's time I start taking care of myself so that I don't fall apart later on when it won't be so easy to correct.

    Squealing Belt

FiveSpeed, definitely go back to the shop as soon as you can. If it has something to do with a mistake or faulty part, you may have a limited window to getting it fixed under warranty. If you wait, you could void the warranty for not getting it looked at in a reasonable amount of time. Good...

    Key ring

Wow! That's ridiculous! I have to agree with you...tape is much cheaper and it should work fine for you. I just looked up car remotes to see if I could find it cheaper online...even my car costs $119 to replace, and I have a no frills car key remote.

    A New Microcar

At 6'4" the odds of fitting in a microcar are not good. Even "regular size" small cars do not accommodate long legs. Remember the Del Sol? That wasn't ever happening in a million years. I laugh at the "clown cars". It's not for our family.

    Lexus Christmas commercial

I have to laugh, but is anyone else here getting a little tired of the Lexus Christmas car commercial? How many people, in this economy, do you think are getting a Lexus for Christmas? Certainly not me....kudos to the people who are!!

    under skirt

I might be completely wrong, and I might be thinking of the wrong part, but I think that is what that part of the car is designed for. I think it is supposed to protect the undercarriage by hanging a bit lower than the bottom of the car. I think they are supposed to last as long as the car...

Selling a car - how to

Man, sorry to hear that! There is nothing worse than having a vehicle taking up a spot in the driveway that you just want to get rid of! I hope it sells soon!

    First snow

People never get their winter driving skills down where I live, which is crazy since we get a decent amount of snow! I guess I got spoiled growing up in Lake Placid, NY, where we had snow from October to April. People knew how to drive in snow because we would get lake effect snow bands that...

    Cheap Tips That Work

I wish I had some cheap and useful tricks to add to this because I've enjoyed reading them, but I don't. I will definitely have to try the dryer sheets because we get a lot of bugs here too.

Selling a car - how to

Just a thought, but have you done a search to see what your make and model car is selling for in your region on Craigslist? You might also want to check some local car dealer websites to get an idea. My mom was trying to sell my Grandpa's car and she had it listed for the Kelly Blue Book...

How do you transport your pets?

My dogs have free reign of the car, but I don't take them for drives any more now that they are elderly. When they were younger, they loved being in the car. My oldest, a poodle/chihuahua mix, used to curl up on my lap and would ride for hours without a peep. The other two would curl up in...

    Bear of a job!

Hotrod, the job probably would have been a few hundred bucks. The part alone was $130. I just couldn't risk the unknown repair cost right before the holidays, so I had to take on this project. I was so proud of myself when I took the truck for a test drive. I like to tinker, so the more I'm...

    Check for kitties!

It's an awful thought having that happen to someone. Thankfully it hasn't happened to me, and I hope it never does. It's something I need to be concerned with as we have a lot of wild cats around our area that wander into the yard occasionally after mice or birds.

    Bear of a job!

I finished replacing the wheel hub assembly on my truck a few days ago...what a bear of a job that one was! The assembly was completely rusted to the steering knuckle and I worked at getting it off for a day and a half without any luck. I found a suggestion on youtube about using the steering...

    Not mine but nice

Someday I will have my garage queen. Right now it's not practical for my lifestyle, but I have always wanted to buy an antique and restore it. When I was a teenager, my Dad had looked into buying a car kit...he just didn't have the time to do it and decided against it.

    strap for truck

I use ratchet straps for the larger stuff. The nice thing about them is that you can get a custom fit and tighten as much as you need. I asked for a cargo net for Christmas because we bring our own garbage to the dump and no matter how well you pack the back, you never know when something will...

    Wireless Headphones

They were having big sales on wireless headphones at Amazon over the weekend. I'm not in the market at the moment, so I didn't pay a lot of attention to prices or name brands. I suggest Amazon simply because of how valuable I find the customer reviews.
