I'm sure most of them do that "balloon interest" thing, Lambo. It's true, too, that people want to have different cars often. I'm not that way. I've had my car since 2002!
I have never been interested in having a boat. I guess because of that, I didn't know you had to paint it. I guess I thought the color was part of the material (like siding, sort of) instead of something that had to be renewed often.
I added one of those light bars in the back window - it ties into the brake/signal system and goes on solid when I brake and flashes in the direction of a turn with the regular turn signals.
There are SUVs now that get decent mileage. Some get 30mpg - that's not so shabby! There's a list that I found on this mpg-omatic website, that studied the mileage of a bunch of SUVs.
I agree with you, Lamboguy. It boggles my mind that my spouse will leave the house, and no sooner get in the car and be calling me. Couldn't you say it before you left two minutes ago? Really?
I never even thought about cleaning the headlights separately. They get cleaned when I wash the car, I think, but I never paid any extra attention to them.
I hope you didn't get too far out in the intersection! That sounds really dangerous! I would be afraid to drive in those conditions, I think. I'm glad it doesn't snow here much.
My car is making a noise in the front - it sounds like the engine, but I'm not sure. It is behind the dashboard somewhere. When I push the gas, it sounds like something is vibrating.
I got my first car shortly after I got my license. I had a job and I wanted to be able to visit friends that lived in the next town (15 miles away). It was a little Ford.
I'm glad to hear they are illegal most places. I don't understand how any state could allow them, when it makes it so difficult to see the plate. Even if it is clear, it gets dirty, or has reflections.
I never really thought about lights under the dash. I guess my car has them, because I don't remember ever having a complaint, but I can't pinpoint it in my head. I'll have to look next time I'm in it in the dark.
What I read about it, Lamboguy, said that you can't get it out of park without the key in it. You can start it remotely, but you can't "run" it remotely, if you know what I mean.
I can sort of understand people driving home in the snow and ice because they want to get home... but I do not get why people go OUT when it's slippery!
When that happened to me, I took it to a glass repair place and they put it back up for me. They have all the equipment (and knowledge) to get it back up fast and tight.
You mean like silicone caulking? That might be an option, and it would be water resistant, as well. I'll have to see if I still have some leftover in the shed.
Yeah, it really depends on where you live. If you live in the northern states that get snow half the year, it seems like having a motorcycle is going to cost more for less riding time than you get in the south, where you can ride all but two or three months.
