    Failed brakes

I know, right? That's what the guys on the job site who watched it happen said. They couldn't believe what they were seeing. I was lucky it landed on its wheels, but I was also lucky that after I got off and it continued to flip a few more times, it kept on landing on its wheels. There was no...

    Lifts

Reasons I've done it in the past have been for bigger tires and off roading purposes. I think some people just like the way it looks. Determining why anyone puts a lift kit on a truck depends on what they're using it for.

    They're making it so hard

Car manufacturers are making it harder and harder to service your own vehicles. My first truck was a '58 Chevy and that thing was so easy to work on! I knew where everything was under the hood and I did all repairs and upgrades myself. Now I need a special tool just to change the spark plugs on...

    Failed brakes

Well, my quad and I went for a heck of ride the other day when my brakes failed on a very steep mountain. It started rolling backward, hit a rut, and took air. I somehow managed to hang on to that baby for a full back flip! :Peace!: After that, I jumped off and it kept going. Believe it or not...

    Loaded up to the brim

Where are you going camping? I wish I was going. We usually camp a couple times every summer, but this year we haven't had the time. I'll have to make up for it next year!

Rear Wheel Drive vs Front Wheel Drive

I hate rear wheel drive. My wife has a rear wheel drive truck right now, but I'm planning on trading that in for four wheel drive very soon. We have a knack for getting ourselves into sketchy driving condition situations (snow and mud being the two most popular), so four wheel drive is necessary.

    Service Engine Light

There are a variety of things that could cause this, but the bottom line is that something is drawing moisture. What that something is can be difficult to diagnose though. If you're mechanically handy, you could do some internet research to look for a list of parts to check.

    Electric Car Upgrades

Maybe a little, but I'm not sure it's going to be all that noticeable. I think people are still turned off by the price. Sure there are benefits in the long run, but it's putting out the initial money that's making people shy away, in my opinion.

    Key fob dead again

It shouldn't happen twice in one year. Get it from the dealer and ask about a warranty because you may just have gotten a fob that's a lemon.

    Another Olympic "Sport"?

Pole dancing for athletic purposes doesn't have to involve the moves you're thinking about. In many cases, their feet don't even touch the ground and it looks like a form of gymnastics. I know I could never do it.

    All These Shootings

I think Devan is right about it being a vicious cycle, but something's gotta give. I was in the grocery store the other day with my daughter and it crossed my mind that we aren't safe anywhere. That's a really scary thought. There are always going to be lunatics out there, but it seems like...

    New or Slightly Used?

I don't bother with new cars because of how much they depreciate as soon as you buy them. I let someone else take the hit for that and then scoop it up when they need to get rid of it.

    Private sale or trade in?

I think ya'll are right. Bad economy or not, private is probably still the way to go. As RoseRed said though, it can be a bit of a headache. Maybe I'll list it for two weeks and if I don't get anywhere I'll see what I can get on a trade in.

    Voice Activated

I don't trust that stuff for the exact reasons you pointed out. There are too many things that could go wrong. Maybe I'll feel different in 10 or 20 years, but for now I'm staying away from it.

Derby and the jaws of life!

That's pretty scary. I would love to participate in a derby, but when you go into it you have to know the risks you are taking. I guess it's just like anything else in life.

    Finally getting front end fixed

I put my truck in the shop yesterday to finally get the CV joints fixed. I've needed to do this for several months now and I am so happy to be getting it done. I off road quite a bit for work and all the popping from the broken boots was driving me crazy!

    Private sale or trade in?

When you are replacing a vehicle, do you sell it privately or trade it in at a dealer? I used to think you could get more money selling privately, but in this economy I just don't know which way to go.

Keeping a center punch in the car

I usually have lots of tools in my truck, but this does make sense for someone who doesn't normally have that stuff in their vehicle. Odds are you'd never need it, but better to be safe than sorry, right?

    Waiting for a ride

Thankfully my wife and I have the flexibility to rearrange our schedules for pick ups and drop offs in a situation like this. Before I got married though, I was in your boat many times and it's a total pain. I feel for you.

    Just bought a quad!!

I got an Arctic Cat. It wasn't my first choice, but the deal I got was so good I just couldn't pass it up. My current job site is in a mountainous, woodsy area so I spend all day at work zipping around on it. It's like getting paid to play!
