    How many of you take the time to clean your EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve on a regular basis? I have no choice because it gets fouled up with carbon deposits around the time I have to get my car tested for safety and emissions.

    What's your most embarrassing moment with a car? When I was a teen, my buddies and I were in a GTO being really obnoxious. We peeled out and the car went clunk! Broken u joint. People were laughing as they drove by.

    Chilton or Haynes?

    For all of the home mechanics, which car repair manual do you prefer? I like Chiltons better than Haynes any day. Sometimes I'll refer to both but usually, it's Chiltons that I keep with me.

    What was your first car?

    What was the first car you ever owned? My first car was a 1978 Firebird. It was grey on the outside, black on the inside. The area where I lived had hot summers so those black seats were blazing, especially when I sat down in shorts.

    What causes excessive oil consumption?

    I have a 1997 Saturn that is burning oil like crazy. I'm probably going through 2 quarts each month. I've checked for oil leaks on my garage floor and that's not the issue. Anyone have any thoughts on what might be happening?

    Old Motorcycles

    How old is your motorcycle? I have a 1982 Honda CX500 Custom. Still in great condition and low miles. I get around 50 miles to the gallon in the city so it's my commuter bike.
