    Got a new one!

An auto manual? That's a new one on me. Maybe they crossed it over for better performance. I know they look nice. Better looking then a lot of new vehicles you see coming out.

    Large Rims?

It's for looks. Rubber that thin simply can't be good for a smooth ride or longevity. I was never a part of that crowd and, even if I had the money, I wouldn't waste it on things like that.

    Electronic System gone wild

Flashing on an off like that sounds like a disruption within the wiring. Sounds like a short. Since it's an older car he may be able to run the diagnostic himself.

    Recycled Tires

Does anyone know if they still take old tires and recycle them to where they help make asphalt? I know years ago that was on the news, but I'm not hearing anything about it lately.

    All These Shootings

I agree. After awhile you just kind of get jaded by at all. You still have compassion for the victims, of course, but it kind of wears on a person when, like you said, the majority of the news focuses on these things. But as they say in the media, if it bleeds it leads.

    lightening question

I can't imagine a car getting major damage because of lightning. Maybe because of other parts of the storm, but not the lightning. But your cat? Yeah, he or she can get fried in a storm. I love cats and mine stay inside.

    Fuel Additives

Additives do work. They're slight and take time to notice, but they do work. And yes, if sticky notes on the dash help you remember, by all means. Whatever helps

    Another Olympic "Sport"?

I heard on the news the other day that they're thinking about making pole dancing an Olympic sport. Pole dancing? Really? I always thought of the Olympics as having family friendly competitions, but pole dancing doesn't fit into that category. Does it?

I guess they do come in threes....

I've only seen one car accident as it happened, and it wasn't a very pretty sight. Three within a short time span like that seems like quite a bit. But you're right though, they do tend to come in three's.

    Finally getting front end fixed

Those are important components to any vehicle. Glad to hear you're taking care of it. In these times it can be hard to come up with the finances to get things like this done.

    Private sale or trade in?

I've only gotten rid of two old vehicles; one through a trade in and the other through selling it. It worked out well for me both times. You just have to keep the age of the vehicle in mind. That's the main thing I think.

    New bumper!

Those pick a part places are always good for those sorts of things. It might be a crap shoot sometimes to find exactly what you need, but when you do the price is always right.

Europe is running out of plastic

Maybe they can do something with metal to make it as light as plastic but still as good in quality. They're going to have to something.

    Electric Car Upgrades

With all the news recently about the performance improvements they're making with electric cars, do you think there's going to be a noticeable uptick in sales?

    Oil Changes

I always keep checking the oil once a week to see what the color is. When it gets too dark for my taste, I change it. It's usually around the 2,000 mile mark.

    Valuable life lesson

Yeah, those things can be very tricky. And expensive. It's always best to have an experienced driver and spotter doing something like this so they can both watch for people and other property.

Derby and the jaws of life!

Those are the chances those guys take I guess. It's fun to watch and fun to do, I'm sure, but it can also be dangerous. They have my respect.

Keeping a center punch in the car

Better safe than sorry I say. The thought of drowning in my car gives me the shivers. Funny how when some things become more convenient they also become a safety hazard as well.

    Cars and built-in media

Haven't studies been done about this sort of thing? How distractions such as this raises the chance of having an accident? Kind of seems to me that your insurance rates would go up because you're in a car with features that have been proven to increase your odds of having an accident.

    Walking vs. Driving

I heard a story on the news about a guy in Florida who walked everywhere he needed to go to for one day. It was an experiment to see how different his life would be if he had to walk all the time. Would you do something like that just to see how different things would be?
