Features On A Touring Bike

I'd like to get a touring bike. I don't really know why because I don't travel that often. I guess it's my motorcycle addiction. I'd like to know what features make a touring bike a touring bike.

I am also addicted to the motor cycles, and i love riding bikes, but i always prefer to drive safely, i always use a fully cover helmet and at moderate speed i drive.

I like touring bikes. I'm not the type for a "crotch rocket." I've always thought a touring bike had more luxury features, such as double seats with armrests, stereos, cruise control, windshields and a more upright riding stance. The Honda Goldwing is a good example of a touring bike.
