Carroll Shelby, known for his designs and for racing, as well, died Thursday in Dallas, TX. Most of his life was devoted to cars in one way or another.
Whenever I think of Carroll Shelby I think of the Shelby Mustang. I know he was more than just a name associated with a car but when it comes to word association, that comes to my mind.

It amazes me that someone can pursue a dream job like car design and end up making enough money to live well. We don't encourage our young people to follow their dream jobs as much as we should. People like Shelby prove anything's possible.
The auto industry just lost a heck of a man in Shelby. He's probably done more behind the scenes to help promote the industry then anyone else in our lifetime.
