Long beeping sound at car shut-off

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. Periodically, when I turn the ignition off, I hear a long beeping sound (approx. 3 - 5 seconds long). It's not the headlight reminder (the headlights usually aren't on), nor is it the "key in the ignition" reminder (because the door isn't open). I suspect its an indicator warning about an electrical problem (mainly because my window motors die at least 1x/year), but my mechanic doesn't seem to know.

Any ideas?

Are you getting any codes from the car? Is the service engine light on when the beeping occurs? Use the Internet and do a search for the problem. Can't believe you'd be the only one with this problem. Good luck.

No, the check engine light is not on when the sound occurs; I would assume no error codes are being generated as well. I've been checking for other occurences of this, with no luck yet.
