Smoking Jeep Tailpipe

I have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee, and it runs perfectly. However, the tailpipe often smokes. The smoke is a greyish color and is kind of smelly. This is highly annoying and we have tried various things to get the smoking to stop. Does anyone have a solution? I just can not understand the smoke, because the car runs perfectly.

You may have a leak somewhere in your exhaust line. I would say the best thing to do is take it in to have it checked out. It sounds like something is not right and only a proper once over by a certified mechanic is going to figure out what it is at this point.

That definitely sounds like you should have it looked at. If it is a funny color and smell than you may have something wrong in your exhaust line or elsewhere.
