Specialty or general?

I need to have some major work done on my automobile, including air conditioning, brakes and a few miscellaneous items. Do others take their cars to individual specialty service repair centers or do a general, one-size-fits-all approach? I hate having to go to several different places.

If it's transmission work, then definitely see a specialist. If it's just a combination of a few minor things, then yeah, a one-size-fits-all type of shop should be good enough.

I take mine to specialists. It may cost me bit more, but I know the job is going to get done right the first time, and that's important to me.

I have one guy that does it all. He has a rather large operation and is kown for his honesty and fairness when it comes to mechanic work. If he sees something that he or his employees can't fix, then he suggests a specialist. I feel lucky to have found this guy.
