vents and ducts

Has anyone found anything other than a toothbrush, a pipecleaner, or a Q-tip, to clean the dust from INSIDE of the air vents in a vehicle?

It drives me nuts, I detail the inside of the car, and what stands out? the dust just INSIDE of the vents, almost taunting me.... :mmph:

That's labor-intensive, is there any way that's easier?

The only time I have cleaned the vents was when someone threw up in my car and it went in there. I took the covers off and cleaned them the best I could that way, with a brush.

Other than removing them, I think you named some of the easiest methods. I use small detail brushes and Q-tips. I have removed mine once, in my old car, but it was to paint them. Easy enough to get off, not sure it's easier than just sticking with the brush though.

I wonder if you got a larger, soft-bristled brush, like they sell for floors or whatever (I'm not sure what is their intended use, but I know there's one around my house somewhere), if that would get in there if you brushed over it a few times?
