Windows and birds

Where I work, they have a house full of large windows. It is great for the view of the beautiful yard and pond but I swear every 10 minutes a bird is flying into them. I have seen some birds hit so hard that they were either killed or stunned for several minutes. Does anyone else have this problem?

We don't have that issue at our house, but I have heard of it being a problem in some local office buildings. I feel bad for the birds and really, that would be terribly distracting. I'd be waiting for the thuds.

I have had birds fly into my windows at work. It scares me! You hear a thump and then see a bird. I've never seen any at home though! Are the windows really clean?
