Your technique

I have to admit that I don't have the patience to actually detail my car at home, and have no money to pay someone to do it. If I ever decide to actually go for it, would you care you tell me your process? How do you go about it? Do you start with the inside? What should I do first?

The inside does not get done often. But I usually wash the outside, saving the tires and wheel wells for the last. Next I do the windows. I then do the trim, tires and wheel wells (yes I coat the wheel wells to make them nice and black, car looks much better with them done) and then move onto the polishing and waxing itself.

I used to take real pleasure in detailing my car, but lately more and more time constraints are keeping me from doing it. I do start from the inside, top to bottom, doing the carpet last so I can vacuum anything that fell from above. I use the same theory when I then move to the outside.
